Seminar/Symposia/Presentations Scheme

ER&IPR Directorate also receive proposals for financial support for conduct of seminar/symposia /presentation/courses etc. Proposals in this regard will be submitted by the institution concerned in the prescribed Performa for conducting Seminar/Symposium/Presentation/Short Course etc. in IITs, universities, higher technological institutes, colleges and other research centers.

Objective:
  • To encourage and fund basic and applied research in pertinent scientific disciplines directly relevant to our ER/IPR systems needed for future by enabling and supporting emerging talents, particularly in academic and research institutions to create and evolve a potential knowledge-base system applicable to future ER and IPR needs of the country.

Steering Committee of ER-IPR
  • The board is assisted by a Steering Committee in Technology forecasting, monitoring/review of large value/multi-disciplinary projects, and supports planning/setting up of Centers of Excellence.
  • The Steering Committee also assists the ER/IPR Division in the formulation of plans and programmes of relevance to the needs of the country in the areas of ER and IPR related technologies.

Specialist Panels of ER-IPR

ER/IPR operates through a Five specialist Panels. The Panels meet periodically to review and recommend new proposals and monitor the ongoing projects. In addition, these panels are also responsible to expand the ER & IPR research in the country by way of motivating and nurturing young scientists and R&D institutions to take up activities in the specialist areas. Presently, there are Five Specialist Panels to cover the different disciplines, viz.,

  • Directed Energy Weapons
  • Stealth
  • Electronics
  • Quantum Computing
  • Security


Who can Submit:

Convenor from:-

  • Research institutions
  • Universities or colleges
  • Indian academic institutions of national importance/repute
  • National science and technology centers
  • Non-profit professional societies performing advance research
  • Acclaimed scientists attached to approved research
  • Private institutions
  • Departments or laboratories or individuals attached to reputed industrial firms with R&D facilities both in the Government and non-Government sector

Selection:

  • On receipt of the proposal, the Board will scrutinize the proposal for its completeness.
  • In case any single panel can be identified for purposes of examination of the proposal, it will be referred to appropriate panel.
  • If, on the other hand due to multi-disciplinary nature of the proposal or due to paucity of time, the matter cannot be referred to any panel, the proposal will be considered by Directorate ER&IPR and not less than four members of appropriate specialization / experience from different agencies.
  • Based on the recommendation of this panel, sanction will be accorded by Directorate ER&IPR.
  • An amount of appropriate sanction will be accorded as per for financial support to such activities.
  • In case a larger outlay is needed, the Panel Committee would have to consider the proposal either through circulation or in a formal meeting.
  • Based on the recommendations of the panel committee, the Directorate ER&IPR may approve such proposals.
  • On conclusion of the proposed seminar/symposia the sponsors will render a comprehensive report including the technical documents related to the concerned activity and submit to Directorate ER&IPR. A statement of expenditure duly certified for its correctness by executive authority of the institute concerned within one month after conclusion of seminar/symposia etc.

Salient Points:
  • The proposal must clearly bring out an appreciation of how the project would lead to betterment of ER/IPR Division development.
  • Convenor can submit one proposal to only one research board.
  • Yearly progress report has to be submitted by PI at the end of each year
  • Utilization report has to be submitted by PI at the end of financial year

Nature of Support will be provided for the following
  • Hiring of covered space
  • Hiring of facilities like public address system, etc
  • The expenditure against the head travel (domestic only), operation and maintained to be in details and justification should be given for that.
  • Travelling charges for local movement and outstation experts/invited speakers
  • Honoraria
  • Accommodation and catering
  • Stationery, folders, secretarial assistance, postage, etc
  • Printing of circulars, proceedings, abstracts, etc

  • Endorsement from the Head of Institution(on letter head)
  • Convenor Details
  • Technical details (scheme, title, venue, duration, date & objective)
  • Budget details(Estimated expenditure on event)
  • Funds details(Funds requested/received from other organizations/ Previous conference grants received from DRDO during last 03 years/ Grant-in-Aid now requested from DRDO)
  • RTGS details
  • Uploads(event circular/brochure, Utilization certificate for previous Grants, Endorsement letter from Head of the institution & Signature and stamp)
